September 2018
In Czechia, September 28 is a holiday, I got my temporary visa stamped, which means I once again visited outside the Czech borders.
I'd been to Austria before, but this time we weren't going to Vienna. This time we were going to a small town to hang out in thermal springs.
Our hotel was in the town of Frauenkirchen. It's more of a guesthouse than a hotel - we lived in one part of the house, and the owners' family in another.
Frauenkirchen
In general, a small town in Austria looks something like this - a string of houses, a couple of roads and one central square with gas stations, shops and other entertainment. It's hard to get around on foot, you need either a car or a bicycle.
Here's the landscape that opens up when you leave the hotel. By the way, France looks exactly the same, and in general I assume this is what any small European town looks like

We met a whole bunch of tractors in Austria

Hangout spot

Shops

The shop has almost the same stuff as in Czechia. I recommend Austrian lemonade Almdudler - a cross between Buratino, cream soda and Sayany from Chernogolovka

In the evening we went to the thermal baths - several warm pools, a salt pool, some indoors and outdoors. The sauna wasn't working at that time - repairs. 3 hours at the thermal baths for four people + beer and lemonade for everyone cost 75 euros. I didn't take photos because I didn't want to keep my phone in my swim trunks, but it all looks something like this:

The next day we went for a bit of a walk in the forest, since I love nature walks :)
But first we went to the local info center - every tourist can get a free card that gives a whole bunch of discounts. By the way, there was a 20% discount on the thermal baths

In town, apparently they were hauling away plastic waste

And Austria still has phone booths

Forest Walk
We walked roughly along this route

Inside - lots of forest

Sometimes the lake was visible, around which all this beauty is located

Nothing special, if you want to walk and breathe fresh air - totally fine

Along the way we met castle ruins that you can't enter. You would've known about this already if you were subscribed to my Instagram

Then there was a church with cool typography imitating old German writing

Then someone's farm (find the pigs in the photo)

And forest again

The walk took about 4 hours.
We also saw the famous Lake Neusiedl itself
Lake Neusiedlersee. Town of Podersdorf
The lake looks very cool, it's big (clickable).

In the town itself - a waterfront, 2 cafes and lots of cyclists

And the main thing - a lighthouse where everyone takes photos

And on the way back we stopped for wine
Town of Gols
In Gols they brew Golser beer

But we bought wine there. Prices - 6-15 euros, haven't tried it yet.

And there's nothing else in the town of Gols.

On the way out of Gols, a tree fell on the two-lane road, so the road out of town took 10 minutes instead of 2 :)
And you also need to know the most important thing about Austria - there are lots of windmills here

There's plenty to battle, in other words

And in the evening they blink with red light, and it's just beautiful
